How should I prepare a property for rent?

Begin by checking that the property is safe, clean, secure and ready for a tenant. Complete outstanding repairs, confirm appliances and services work, review insurance requirements and gather records relating to the home. Rental properties must meet the legal requirements that apply to them, including the Healthy Homes Standards unless an exemption applies.
